If you haven't noticed, design is being influenced by old industrial materials and factory parts. Focusing on utilitarian function and void of graceful beauty, this design features exposed hardware, hard edges, uses cold materials and lacks embellishment. This new influence is seen more directly in some products while others may be a bit more subtle. This trend can be most obviously seen with lighting fixtures. I love the industrial look for offices/studios and maybe an awesome lobby in a big city but it's not warm enough to carry this style throughout an entire home. What room would you make industrial?
