Hi, I’m Lexi! I’m the Editor over at Glitter Weddings and I am so excited to be guest posting today for Christa Rose! Today I’ll be gushing about the latest trends in gorgeous winter weddings. Won’t you join me?
Nudes + Neutrals
This winter has seen a huge spike in the neutral palette wedding, and what’s not to love? The look is classic and photographs are oh-so-lovely against a snow-covered or bare backdrop. Brides are dressing their bridesmaids in nude and blush-tone gowns, the flowers are understated and elegant, even the grand wedding cakes are staying neutral on the color scheme.
The Fur Accent
Brides are staying warm, and looking chic, in lush fur (and faux fur) coats, shawls, and wraps during takes, and I can’t get enough! The fur adds an element of haute couture to an otherwise traditional look and keeps the bride bundled against the frigid outside temperatures. (I opted for a faux fur-lined shawl – right before and just after the ceremony – on the big-30-degree-day, and I was oh so glad that I did!)
Ever since I spotted those gorgeous glittering branches on Pinterest, I knew I had to DIY. (Seriously – this project is a win, win – hunting for branches and going spray-crazy with a can of glitter glue: dream.come.true.) Branches, both of the au natural and sparkly persuasion are featured heavily in Winter weddings. Plus, bold branches not only make a rustic statement, but the striking centerpieces are also a whole lot less expensive than floral centerpieces.
Tabletops are getting a warm and glitzy overhaul – featuring gold plates and chargers, gold-dipped glasses, even flatware. For the big day, why not feel like royalty when dining? It’s safe to say I want every piece in my own home as well!
I had myself at the title. Seriously, hot chocolate is maybe the most perfect drink (plus or minus a splash of liqueur). A warm mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows (of course!) is the perfect end to a glamorous winter wedding celebration! And inventive brides and grooms are offering their guests just a little more – a hot chocolate bar, complete with liqueur (think Baileys, etc.), heart-shaped marshmallows, cookies for dipping, and peppermint sticks to stir.
